Clyde railway station was once the bustling site of a booming gold trade, but was decommissioned in 1990: the station now silent and the lines lead nowhere. The mating call of the Kakapo is a loud booming that's no longer heard in the landscape. Kakapo populations have declined to approx 200 birds nationwide. Things aren't booming - it may be the end of the line.
